Fraudulent apps on the Google Play store are a huge problem for Android users. Some of the fraudulent apps aim to steal money and other information. In February this year, word surfaced that a cryptocurrency-stealing malware had been found on Google Play, while malware-laden game apps were found last November that were affecting half a million users. Perhaps the biggest fraudulent app was found in November 2018, when apps from Cheetah Mobile were committing millions of dollars in ad click fraud but now it looks like app click fraud is even more widespread.
Cheating is rampant in some of the most popular video games that are played competitively. Cheating is undoubtedly a problem in Fortnite; Epic Games has released a report that shows that over 1,000 players were banned for cheating during the Fortnite World Cup event. However, some of the players accused of cheating deny the accusation.
The April Patch Tuesday update, which landed on April 9 for Windows systems, is still wreaking havoc on numerous systems. As we've previously reported, the KB4493472 has been especially problematic for antivirus programs -- Sophos Endpoint Protection was among the first to encounter problems, while Avira and Avast were other victims.
