Dell is making a big splash at PAX West with some new additions to its gaming lineup. These include new members of the Inspiron family and two new Alienware-branded gaming monitors.

First up at bat is the Inspiron 15 7000 Gaming, which manages to fit a whole lot of high-powered enthusiast gear into a 15.6-inch notebook frame. Dell incorporates seventh generation Intel Kaby Lake quad-core “H Series” processors, up to 32GB of memory, along with up to an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 GPU (complete with NVIDIA Max-Q technology). The aforementioned 15.6-inch display can be had in Full HD or 4K UHD resolutions, although we think that 4K gaming might be a bit much for the GTX 1060 unless you’re playing less demanding eSports titles.

A variety of storage devices can be configured, including HDDs up to 1TB in capacity and PCIe SSDs up to 512GB. You can also go the “hybrid route” with up to a 256GB SATA SSD and a 1TB HDD. The Inspiron 15 7000 Gaming comes standard with a full-size, spill-resistant keyboard and a numeric keypad. On the options sheet is a backlit version of the same keyboard. Other features include 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GbE, USB 3.1 Type-C ports and Thunderbolt 3 compatibility. There’s even a fingerprint reader integrated into the power button, which his fully compatible with Windows Hello.

The notebook features an integrated 56 WHr battery, which is good for up to 9 hours and 46 minutes of runtime when equipped with a Core i5 processor and a GTX 1060. Stepping up to a Core i7 with a GTX 1060 will trim that figure down to 7 hours and 3 minutes.

Complementing the gaming notebook is an update to the Inspiron Gaming Desktop that was introduced in May. This time around, Dell has added a clear side panel that gives you a good look at the system’s innards and Polar Blue LED lighting. Powering the system are AMD’s red-hot multi-core Ryzen processors, and you’ll find HDD, SSD, and dual-drive options to satisfy your storage needs. The standard Inspiron Gaming Desktop starts at $599, while the clear panel version will be available in September starting at $649.
