Infinity Ward Responds To Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Xbox One X Crashes
This entry was posted on October 25, 2019.
Infinity Ward's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has been highly anticipated as a gritty reboot of the combat series that is dripping with gorgeous graphical effects (especially on the PC side with ray tracing enabled). However, last night's official launch of the game was not without problems. Besides the usual servers crashes that gamers should expect with thousands of players trying to hop online all at once, Xbox One X gamers have been especially plagued with issues.
There is currently a reddit thread devoted to incessant crashing on the Xbox One X console. The thread currently has over 2,000 comments and over 27,000 upvotes as Xbox One X gamers are expressing their frustrations and anger with the launch. "It's done it to me once already and there's been multiple reports of others claiming it to have crashed theirs," wrote the OP, kris9512. "Please don't let this be another Black Ops 4 fiasco where the crash bug in blackout lasted weeks."
Redditor AlludingIllusion chimed in that the game had crashed hard 12 times on their Xbox One X. Yet another redditor, iPhoneKid, experienced no less than 9 crashes ranging from when browsing the menu screen, to dying mid-game, to pre-game lobbies, to answering messages via the Xbox Guide.
For its part, Infinity Ward responded to the Xbox One X outrage with the following tweet:
Needless to say, we should also expect minor bugginess to afflict games at launch, but it appears that the experience on the Xbox One X goes beyond what's "normal" for most games straight out of the gate. With that being said, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is expected to be a blockbuster release for Infinity Ward and Activision to close out 2019, so it's in their best interests to get these problems resolved ASAP.
