Lenovo Refreshes Its Android Tablet Family Led By Premium P10 With LTE Connectivity

Lenovo has announced that it has a complete line of new tablets that run the gamut from entry-level units up to the ultra-premium P10 tablet. If you are in the market for a new tablet, there will be something in the new Lenovo line that will likely meet your needs. The premium P10 tablet kicks off the new line; this device has a 10.1-inch screen with FHD 1920 x 1200 resolution IPS display covering 70% color gamut and 400 nits of brightness. P10 buyers get an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front unit; there are LTE and WiFi-only versions.

The SoC under the hood is a Snapdragon 450 octa-core until running at 1.8GHz paired up with up to 4GB of RAM and up to 64GB of internal storage. A microSD card slot is available that adds up to 256GB of additional storage. Power is from a Li-ion polymer battery with 7,000 mAh of juice inside promising over two weeks of standby and up to 15 hours of video playback per charge. Onboard audio has a quartet of front speakers supporting Dolby Atmos sound making this a good option for video streaming. The OS is Android Oreo, and the tablet supports WiFi Direct, WiFi Display, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, and has an FM tuner. Pricing is unannounced on this tablet with pre-orders set for this winter on Amazon.

Lenovo's Tab E10 aims at families looking for a multimedia experience in a tablet that is thin and light. E10 buyers get a 10.1-inch 1280 x 800 IPS display supporting capacitive 5-point touch. The rear camera is a 5MP unit with a front 2MP unit. A Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 is the brain of the tablet with up to 2GB of RAM and up to 16GB of storage. A microSD card slot for expansion of storage up to 128GB extends that meager 16GB. Power is from a Li-ion polymer battery of 4,850 mAh capacity providing up to 5 days of standby and up to 7 hours of video playback. The tablet does have WiFi and Bluetooth integrated, but no GPS. Lenovo Tab E10 starts at $129.99 and will be available at Walmart and other retailers in October.

Tablet shoppers wanting something with a smaller screen can check out the Tab E7 packing a 7-inch TN 1024 x 600 resolution screen with 250 nits brightness. Lenovo offers this tablet in WiFi and 3G versions with the WiFi using a MediaTek M8167 A/D 32-bit 1.3GHz processor and the 3G version using a MediaTek MT8321 A/D 32-bit 1.3GHz processor. Both tablets have GPS and A-GPS along with WiFi Direct, WiFi Display, Bluetooth, and an FM tuner. RAM is up to 1GB and storage is up to 16GB with a microSD card for expansion up to 128GB. Power is via a Li-ion polymer battery with 2,750 mAh of juice. The E7 comes bundled with a back cover and starts at $69.99 with availability in October.

Lenovo's Tab E8 is in Walmart now for $99.99. This tablet offers an 8-inch 1280 x 800 IPS display with 320 nits brightness and capacitive 5-point multitouch. The rear snapper is a 5MP unit with the front a 2MP unit. Android Nougat is the OS, and the SoC is a MediaTek MT8163B at 1.3 GHz. The tablet is WiFi only and has Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, and FM tuner. The E8 has up to 1GB of RAM available and up to 16GB of storage. A microSD card slot supports up to 128GB more storage. The Li-ion polymer battery is a 4850 mAh unit.

The last new tablet is the Lenovo Tab M10 packing a 10.1-inch screen with 1920 x 1200 resolution, 320 nits brightness, and capacitive 10-point multitouch. This tablet comes in WiFi or LTE versions with both using the Snapdragon 450 octa-core 1.8GHz SoC. M10 runs Android O for the operating system and has up to 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage with a microSD card for expansion. Power is via a 4,850 mAh Li-ion polymer battery. Bluetooth, WiFi Direct, WiFi Display, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, and an FM tuner are integrated. Pricing on the M10 is a mystery, and pre-orders start this winter.
