Microsoft Makes Windows 10 Creators Update Available For Everyone, Find It Here

It has been around four months since Microsoft started deploying its Creators Update to Windows 10 to compatible PCs. To ensure a smooth roll out, Microsoft did not bombard every single PC on the first day, or even the first week or month. Instead, Microsoft issued the update in stages. Now several months later, the Creators Update is widely available to everyone (except Windows 10 systems running an Intel Clover Trail Atom processor, of course).

With this wide open roll out now in effect, Microsoft says its enterprise customers should feel confident in deploying the update to PCs across their organizations. And of course Microsoft takes things a step further by encouraging businesses to do so.

"The new Semi-Annual Channel update cadence and life cycle model provides commercial customers with greater predictability and simplicity to take advantage of the latest capabilities and integrated security, as quickly as is practical for their organization. This predictable release cycle enables enterprises to plan combined servicing of Windows and Office and create deployment plans tailored to their needs," Microsoft stated in a blog post.

Microsoft introduced several new features and improvements to Windows 10 with the Creators Update. One that will especially resonate with consumers is better privacy controls and transparency as to what the settings actually do, as opposed to vague descriptions. It also introduced a new 3D Paint application and brought with it several goodies for gamers, such as a new Game Mode, native game broadcasting support, and a new Game Bar for quick access to certain settings.

The Creators Update is the first of two major upgrades to Windows 10 scheduled for this year. The second one will be the Fall Creators Update. It will bring with it a somewhat refreshed look (fluent design) and several new features of its own, such as the ability to link your Android or iPhone device to your PC. It will also be tuned for a new generation of lower cost VR headsets from the likes of Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, and Lenovo.

As for the Creators Update that is now widely available, you can go to Settings > Update & security to check for and grab any available updates. Otherwise you can go the manual route by heading here and clicking the "Update now" button.
